ADHD often comes with rejection sensitivity. This student was aware he was behind in school and his coping strategy was to avoid work when possible.
“Our son is keeping up with conversations at the dinner table. He is reading books and sometimes surprises us with his focus. He spent over three hours helping me clear out the garage. Previously, after a few minutes of such task he would drift away, but he was motivated and stayed with it. I hope this improvement continues when he returns to school.”
